This intriguing scheme involved the restoration, refurbishment and major alterations to a very prominent Victorian Hospital to form ‘City Living’ accommodation for lower income families. In addition, new blocks of flats were constructed to provide 101 new affordable homes.
Two of the four phases were traditionally tendered, however, the following two phases were negotiated on a Design & Build / refurbishment basis.
The new units were built to a National Assembly of Wales specification for Swansea Housing Association.
The project has won great praise since it’s completion and is considered by the Nation Assembly to be ‘one of the finest examples of it’s kind’.
The scheme as a whole has also been short-listed for several awards in the construction industry.
