Jehu’s Specialist Works Department have started work on the re-development of the Newton Village Community Centre in Mumbles, Swansea.
The £300,000 development largely funded by the fund raising efforts of Newton Village Community members efforts supported in part by Lottery funding consists of the demolition and construction of a new community centre for the village.
The Specialist works team at Jehu have worked closely with Allied Design Consultancy and the committee at Newton for over two years now to help bring this project to fruition.
The Lord Mayor of Swansea, Sue Walker, attended site to perform the symbolic cutting of the turf ceremony following the demolition of the former community hall.
The community can look forward to an exciting new building being development, to a high standard, over the coming months.
